Free demo on Steam, a tutorial and a podium finish
The free demo of Speed Golf Royale is live on Steam ⛳ We've kept shipping since: Austin Ace now teaches you the game, every match ends on a podium, and there's a long list of polish and fixes.
New
- Tutorial: Austin Ace takes you round Ace Academy, his practice course, then takes you on in a qualifier at Puddle Pines.
- Every match ends on a podium, with a trophy, fireworks and confetti for the winner. Holes-in-one get their own celebration that the whole lobby sees.
- The Practice Ground is the new waiting room, with a driving range, a short-game corner and carts to mess about in.
- Hollow Hop is a new par 3, and Puddle Pines is rebuilt around a creek with footbridges, a cart bridge and stepping stones.
- Hosts get more match options: random wind per hole and ball collision settings, each with a tooltip.
- Rewatch a hole from the result card, plus new settings: metric or imperial units, hidden name tags, a ping readout and a What's new screen after each update.
Improved
- New sounds for every club, landings and the cup, plus an announcer, a cheering crowd and fresh "Fore!" shouts.
- Each power-up has its own colour, a burst when you grab it, an aura everyone can see and a HUD bar that blinks before it runs out.
- Golfers, carts and balls splash and ripple in water, and carts leave skid marks.
- Fewer stutters on wooded courses, the first splash, getting into a cart and the flyover. Online, your ball leaves the club the moment you hit it.
Fixed
- Balls no longer roll on for ages down slopes, get stuck between platforms or fall through the floor, and they pass through golfers so nobody can block your shot.
- Hosting no longer makes duplicate lobbies, joining no longer gets stuck loading, parked carts stay put on slopes, and a crash loading a level on Mac is gone.
