Ball trails, splashes and a fresh menu look
August was a look-and-feel month. Your ball now leaves a ribbon trail in a colour you choose, kicks up grass when you hit it and makes a splash when it finds the water.
New
- Ball trails are now a smooth ribbon, and you can pick the trail colour in the Customization menu.
- Hitting off the grass throws up a puff of turf, and a ball that lands in water splashes.
- The Steam lobby browser has Host and Join tabs, sorting by ping or player count, and a Friends Only filter.
Improved
- The menus, lobby, customization and settings screens have a new look. Escape in the pre-match lobby or the customize menu now takes you back a step instead of opening the pause menu.
- The spectator screen stays out of the way: your score sits bottom right with a little animation, and you can flick to the previous player as well as the next.
- Bots are much better at getting round a course. They come in a mix of skill levels, aim away from water, find their way around obstacles and run to their ball instead of teleporting to it.
Fixed
- Golfers in online games could get stuck aiming with a frozen swing meter and no controls. Fixed.
- Saw traps that move along a path now hit you where they actually are, not back at their starting spot.
- The scoreboard counts scores correctly again and shows the right birdie and bogey icons.
- The green on Blizzard Basin no longer floats above the ground.
- The course flyover before tee-off no longer gets skipped.
- The lobby info panel no longer vanishes when the Steam lobby list refreshes, and lobby pings no longer show -1ms.
